Senior Vice President of Engineering, Recurly

Jeff Sheldon is responsible for all aspects of engineering at Recurly and has grown the organization with a focus on scalability, cloud infrastructure, architecture, and platform reliability for subscription business owners. Since joining the San Francisco-based subscription platform company Recurly in 2016 as Director of Engineering, he has taken on a progressively challenging set of responsibilities cementing his spot on the executive team. During Jeff Sheldon’s tenure, Recurly experienced exponential growth as a business partner supporting the subscription management and billing for some of the largest and fastest-growing enterprises in the subscription industry. Under Jeff Sheldon’s direction, Recurly’s technology team supports each entrepreneur using the subscription model so they can bring a high-quality product to life, whether they’re running a physical product company or creating a unique customer experience.

Before Recurly, Jeff held leadership roles at engineering teams in Coupa, Life360, and StumbleUpon. At Coupa, Jeff managed teams of Rails and JavaScript engineers across 4 continents, increasing team unity and collaboration. At Life360, he guided the development of the Life360 Platform, which handled over one billion API requests every day.

Jeff Sheldon earned his BS in Computer Science from Heidelberg University in Ohio. He is currently based in San Francisco and when he’s not driving customer success stories and helping ease the administrative burden for entrepreneurs across the globe, he enjoys travel, cooking, and exploring the beautiful California wine country.

Recurly’s all-in-one subscription billing platform enables teams to build new subscriber experiences, ramp pricing, and build their customer base with valuable insights into consumer preferences within their own subscription services. Category-defining subscription companies including Sling, Twitch, BarkBox, FabFitFun, Paramount, Lucid, and Sprout Social have chosen Recurly for business growth. With Recurly, they can manage billions of dollars in credit card payments for recurring revenue, future-proof their billing and payment operations, curb subscriber retention, and win back millions of dollars in revenue recovery. Founded in 2009, Recurly today boasts offices in San Francisco, Boulder, New Orleans, and London. For more information, visit
