TikTok’s LIVE creator subscriptions just launched
TikTok creators can generate recurring revenue via payments from their top fans thanks to TikTok LIVE subscriptions. Similar to Twitch, this new streaming service will give subscribers perks like subscribers-only chats, custom emojis, badges, and more. It officially launched into beta testing on May 26. NFL is launching its own streaming service
This summer, NFL fans will have a new streaming service to watch games. NFL+ may be coming as early as July and will reportedly cost around $5 a month. It will be a mobile-first option and “will feature live in-market games on mobile phones and tablets as well as other possible content, including radio, podcasts and a variety of other team-created content.” Read more on TechCrunch.
Car subscription platform Finn raises $110M
The $110 million will go towards expansion into the U.S. and Europe, with hopes of reaching 30,000 subscribers by the end of the year. Costco offering discounted Apple subscriptions
You can now get Apple TV+, Apple News+, and Apple Arcade at Costco for a discounted price. “Apple Arcade is available for $44.99 to Costco members, down from the standard yearly price of $49.99. The same discounted price is being offered for Apple TV+, while Apple News+ is available for $89.99 for a year of service,” according to PYMTS. Read more.
Spotify is the #1 must-have entertainment platform
According to a new study by Hub Entertainment Research, Spotify is the #1 must-have entertainment platform in the U.S. “In a census-balanced survey of 3,014 U.S. consumers 18 to 74 who have broadband, fielded in March, 75% of Spotify users rated the audio platform as a must-have, versus 69% of YouTube users and 68% of Netflix users.” Learn more on MediaPost.
