Darby is the Visual Design Manager at Recurly. In her role, Darby works to address the challenges of our evolving design team—ensuring designers have the right mix of skills, creating efficient workflows, and improving the impact of design by establishing processes and measures that scale. With a heavier focus on a design operations mindset, she recognizes the need for and implements a set of standardized processes, methods, and tools to ensure the design team is a well-oiled machine.
Since 2012, Darby has been working on branding and digital design projects, both at agencies and in-house, from foggy San Francisco. Prior to joining Recurly, Darby held various positions as a Freelance Designer, Art Director, and Graphic Designer at companies across the San Francisco Bay Area. She graduated from Iowa State University with a bachelor of arts in Advertising, Art and Design, and Spanish, and she also has a Master of Science in Global Strategic Communication and Art Direction—part of a partnership program between Florida International University and Miami Ad School.
