Today, Recurly is unveiling new product updates such as new AI-native tools, lifecycle automations, and global expansion tools to help subscription companies reduce churn, recover revenue, and scale with ease. With over 76 million unique subscribers on our platform, and $1.6 billion in recovered revenue for our customers, Recurly is rolling out over 30+ releases so you can eliminate operation headaches and cut costs where it matters most.
Highlights for Recurly release spring 2026:
Put your subscriptions on autopilot: Recurly Compass agents embed five new specialized agents directly into your operational workflows. These include configuration, knowledge, data, retention, and code agents designed to help you automate subscription tasks like plan management, churn reduction, API integration code, and so much more.
Drive greater subscriber revenue: Subscribers can update their card details directly within an Recurly Engage prompt without ever leaving the page. On Shopify, subscribers can build their own product bundles at checkout with dynamic bundles and grow LTV for every subscriber. With Justt.ai’s AI-powered dispute handling you can keep subscribers records in sync and recover more revenue during chargebacks.
Localized payments and market expansion: New high-speed checkout infrastructure with Checkout.com and Nuvei gateways. Maximize authorization rates and localize subscription checkouts while lowering costs with new automation features.
Recurly Compass Agents: New tools for your workflow

We’re introducing Compass Agents to guide your team step-by-step through high-impact subscription operations, directly inside the Recurly UI. These are purpose-built agents that live inside your workflows, take action, and reduce the need for engineering support to get things done.
Configuration agent: Eliminate manual operational work that slows teams down. This agent allows you to configure plans, set up coupons, manage add-ons, and launch new billing settings through AI-guided automation that removes manual setup and speeds up day-to-day operations.
Knowledge agent: Reduce time spent searching for the information you need. Find Recurly documentation and AI-powered guidance directly inside your workflow, so teams can find answers, resolve product and API-related questions, and get up to speed on best practices without leaving the UI or filing a support ticket.
Data agent: Eliminate manual pulls and make faster decisions. Query subscription data using natural language to instantly retrieve accounts, invoices, subscriptions, and transactions, then generate filtered exports for downstream analysis.
Retention agent: Built for churn prevention and maximizing LTV. This agent guides teams through dunning configuration, account updater setup, and churn-reduction prompts. Instead of relying on institutional knowledge or waiting for engineering, teams can launch and optimize retention strategies through guided AI workflows.
Code agent: Accelerate development with AI that handles the heavy lifting across your code needs. Generate API integration code, sample requests, payload creation, webhook and event logic, and implementation guidance all within your developer environment so you can build the infrastructure you need without the back-and-forth.
All of these advancements will be rolling out soon within the coming weeks to our platform. At Recurly, we’re leading the charge on AI powered subscription management. Check out more AI innovations and tools during our Recurly Release webinar on April 22nd.
Lifecycle automation: Recover revenue and reduce churn at every stage

With acquisition rates falling and 77% of consumers saying they have the right amount of subscriptions, every subscriber counts towards generating revenue. You need automation that scales and resolves friction before it becomes a reason for churn. Here’s how Recurly is helping you do this:
Chargeback dispute management through Justt.ai: AI-powered dispute handling directly within the Recurly platform. Chargeback management is fully automated, and dispute outcomes sync with Recurly in real time. This includes invoices, credits, and subscription records. Teams can recover disputes without manual reconciliation.
Dynamic paywall: Convert users into subscribers with paywalls triggered based on real usage behaviors including article views, scroll depth, repeat visits, and more.
Dynamic subscription bundles: On Shopify, boost average order value by allowing subscribers to build customizable product bundles at checkout and modify their selections before renewal — all managed natively within Recurly's subscription platform.
Propensity modeling: With new Recurly Engage updates, you can predict which subscribers are most likely to churn using behavioral and engagement data, and automatically generate “at-risk” audiences you can target before they are lost.
Payments hub: A new centralized single dashboard coming soon that showcases authorization performance, decline patterns, and recommended payment optimizations.
In-prompt card update: When a payment fails, subscribers can now update their card details directly within a Recurly Engage prompt. No redirect to a billing page, no separate wallet flow, no drop-off. This feature is coming soon.
The subscriber lifecycle has changed, and the industry is rapidly changing to meet those new subscribers expectations. You need frictionless checkout experience, the right pricing strategy, and the right save for the subscribers who would otherwise cancel.
Global payment expansion: New gateways, localized checkout, and lower costs

Entering a new market used to mean months of engineering work to rebuild billing logic for local payment expectations. Spring '26 changes that with two major new gateway integrations, Brazil and LATAM payment support, and tools to lower processing costs. Global expansion becomes a configuration task, not a project.
Checkout.com gateway: Combine Checkout.com's high-speed payment infrastructure with Recurly's subscription management and intelligent retry logic. Supports 3DS, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via Hyperswitch — no engineering bottlenecks required.
Nuvei gateway: Expand into new markets using Nuvei's global payments infrastructure alongside Recurly's subscription platform. Supports card payments, wallets, and local payment methods within the Recurly billing workflow.
Subscribers want and expect an easy checkout experience, regardless of their payment method or location. The right payment infrastructure not only allows you to meet this demand, but can allow you to scale into new markets with success. Fast tracking your ability to prove value to your customers.
