Recurly Celebrates Grads
It’s the time of year when graduations are celebrated as kids move from one education milestone to the next or begin their life in the “real world.” However, due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, this year most graduations weren't able to be celebrated in the traditional way.
Recurly understood and had empathy that many of our employees had children graduating and took the opportunity to celebrate them in style.
Recurly Celebrates Graduates
On June 5th, Recurly celebrated the graduations of 22 children ranging from preschoolers to graduate school. The graduation ceremony was celebrated with family, friends, and all employees via a video call. The master of ceremonies was Recurly’s own Shane Oren, SVP of Sales who’s daughter graduated from middle school. Pomp and Circumstance was played for the group by Haebichan Jung, an accomplished pianist and data scientist at Recurly. And the graduates were honored with a commencement address by Dan Burkhart, CEO who inspired them with words of wisdom and answered some of their questions including, “what’s the one thing you learned in school that you still use to this day?”
As a surprise, all graduates received a “graduation in a box” filled with a sash, cap and tassel, decorations, noisemakers, and a special gift to celebrate their monumental accomplishment.
Wrap Up
The graduation was as great success with employees, families, and friends joining in the celebration. There was lots of inspirational words, cheers of joy, and a few tears. There's no doubt that the future looks very bright with these grads leading the way.
